Let's set up your RetargetLinks account!
Step 1: Create your account and start with your first shortened link
Navigate to www.retargetlinks.com and shorten your link in the section highlighted below:
You will then be asked to enter your email address and activate your short link.
Once you click on activate, you will be redirected to the page below where you can create your account and set up a password:
Step 2: Select and activate your branded URL.
This step is optional and hence we have created another detailed Helpdesk article for it here. Even though it is optional, we highly recommend starting off with a branded URL. Not only does it make the process easier, it is familiar for your customers and encourages more engagement.
Step 3: Start creating short links about content your audience will be interested in within the RetargetLinks dashboard
Step 4: Share your short links via social media, email, SMS, affiliates, influencers or any other media channels you might have
Step 5: Check your link clicks and statistics in your RetargetLinks 'Links Dashboard'.
Step 6: Achieve 250 clicks and starts your ad campaign!
In order to start your ad campaign, you need to achieve a minimum of 250 link clicks. Struggling with link clicks? Check out this blog post on how Sheraton achieved a 48% higher CTR than the industry average!
Got the 250 clicks and ready to set up your campaign? Let's get started:
a) Rename your campaign
By default, all campaigns you create will be 'First Campaign'. In order to measure your results clearly and to avoid confusion, we would recommend going into your Ads Dashboard, navigating over to Settings and changing your Campaign name.
b) Set your ad-click-through destination
Where do you want your users to land when they click on your display ads? Enter this URL here!
c) Set your budget
You can now add in a budget for your campaign. In order to calculate your ideal audience, check how many link clicks you have achieved. Here is how we recommend calculating your budget.
Ideal budget: (Link Clicks) x (15 ads per person) = (Total Reachable Audience)
After you have calculated your total reachable audience, adjust your budget to get closer that number.
d) Add in your payment details securely by clicking on 'Enter' within 'Payment Details'
e) Upload your ads!
Navigate to 'Creatives' and drag and drop your banner ads in accordance with the sizes provided. You can upload as many creatives as you wish to. The creatives must be in PNG, JPEG or GIF format. The file size must not exceed 300KB.
We recommend that you upload at least one ad in all the suggested sizes. This way you never miss out on an placement opportunity.
Step 7: Track your conversions
We highly recommend tracking your progress and your conversions by adding the conversion script to the right web pages. To find the scripts, navigate to your Ads Dashboard and click on the Advanced section.
Please note that each campaign has a unique script as each campaign drops its own cookie.
Step 8: Launch your campaign
You are all ready to press the play button on your campaign - and that is exactly what you need to do. Navigate to your Ads Dashboard and click on the Green play button!
